As one of the United Kingdom’s most majestic symbols, The Royal Arms is a familiar emblem that represents His Majesty The King and is recognised as a sign of authority around the world.

It acts as the official Coat of Arms for the British monarch and its origins lie on the medieval battlefield where it appeared on banners and shields. A mainstay of British coinage for centuries, The Royal Arms is an indicator of power, approval and duty.

In 2019, an interpretation of the Arms by heraldic artist Timothy Noad was featured on a new bullion coin range.

Now, the 2025 coin marks the last time that this bespoke interpretation of Elizabeth II’s coat of arms will appear on the reverse of The Royal Arms. The design represents each nation of the United Kingdom and also features a secure, radial-lined background texture.

The 2025 1oz Royal Coat of Arms Gold Coin will be produced in a limited mintage of 5,000. Classed as British legal tender, the coin is exempt from Capital Gains Tax and therefore will be especially popular with UK tax payers.
