When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures, The Queen's Beasts. Produced by The Royal Mint, this collection of ten 1oz gold coins is inspired by the ancestral beasts of heraldry, myth and legend that watched over The Queen throughout her extraordinary reign.

A fearsome leader, The Lion of England appears as the first in the Queen’s Beasts series. Gracing heraldic art since the twelfth century and used on the shield of England for as long as one has existed, this magnificent beast has always symbolised pride and courage.

Struck in 24 carat gold (99.99% fine gold) and being exempt from both Capital Gains Tax and VAT, makes the Queen's Beasts 2019 a popular choice amongst UK investors.
