Description
Sharps Pixley is proud to offer the 2024 1oz Australian Lunar Series III Gold Coin celebrating the Year of the Dragon. Each year the Perth Mint releases a range of coins to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and 2024 is the turn of the dragon to take centre stage. In the Chinese zodiac the dragon is said to symbolise power, nobility, honour, luck and success.
Those born in 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024 are born in the year of the dragon and said to possess the values of courage, tenacity, intelligence, enthusiasm and confidence.
The coin’s reverse bears an image of a majestic dragon atop a wave like and swirling fog design, alongside the Chinese character translating to ‘dragon’ and a commemorative mint mark ‘p125’ honouring the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. Meanwhile the obverse of the coin bears the crowned portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.
These intricately designed gold coins have limited mintages, making them highly desirable to investors.
