Description
The 2014 1oz Silver Lunar Year of the Horse is made by the Royal Mint and is the first coin of their Shengxiào Collection, celebrating the Chinese Lunar calendar. Each legal tender Lunar coin contains one ounce of 999 fine silver. The face value of this 1oz coin is £2, but in reality is worth much more as an investment grade bullion coin. As they are pre-owned, you can expect these coins to be in good to fair condition, and may have small tarnishes or milk spots, but please rest assured, this has no bearing on their silver content.
On the reverse of the coin is based on the Uffington horse – well known in the UK as the horse figure rendered into the Oxfordshire hills. British Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho, blends British and Chinese heritage into this stunning design.
The obverse features the fourth definitive UK coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Classed as British legal tender, the 2014 1oz Silver Lunar Year of the Horse is Capital Gains Tax exempt, making this a popular choice among UK investors.
