Description
The 2016 1oz Silver Lunar Year of the Monkey is made by the Royal Mint and is the third coin of their Shengxiào Collection, celebrating the Chinese Lunar calendar. Each legal tender Lunar coin contains one ounce of 999 fine silver. The face value of this 1oz coin is £2, but in reality is worth much more as an investment grade bullion coin. As they are pre-owned, you can expect these coins to be in good to fair condition, and may have small tarnishes or milk spots, but please rest assured, this has no bearing on their silver content.
On the reverse of the coin is an image of a playful monkey swinging through the canopy, the design is by British Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho. Meanwhile the obverse features the fifth definitive UK coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
Classed as British legal tender, the 2016 1oz Silver Lunar Year of the Monkey is Capital Gains Tax exempt, making this a popular choice among UK investors.
