When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures, The Queen's Beasts. Produced by The Royal Mint, this collection of ten 2oz silver coins is inspired by the ancestral beasts of heraldry, myth and legend that watched over The Queen throughout her extraordinary reign.

The mystical beast is a familiar symbol that appears as a supporter of the United Kingdom’s Royal Arms, along with the Lion of England. The Unicorn of Scotland is said to stand for strength and beauty, and Royal Mint coin designer Jody Clark has created a design that conveys these qualities. Clark is also responsible for the design on the obverse of the coin; Her Late Majesty's fifth and final effigy.

Struck in 999.9 fine silver and exempt from Capital Gains Tax, The Queen's Beasts Silver collection is a popular choice amongst UK investors.
