1/4 oz Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin is known for its quality and classic design of the Musikverein with its array of instruments such as the four violins centred on a cello, French horn, harp and bassoon. 

The design of the coin remains the same each year and both the obverse and reverse were designed by engraver Thomas Pesendorfer (chief engraver of the Austrian Mint). 

The Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin was first introduced in 1989 and is today one of the bestselling bullion coins in Europe. Manufactured by the Austrian Mint, the 1/4oz coin is 999.9 pure gold and has a denomination of €25 (however the actual valuation of the coin is established by the market value). The 1/4oz Austria Philharmonic Gold Coin is also backed by Austria and the European Union which makes it a highly liquid commodity.
